WOYWW

Hump day again so that must mean baring our workdesks led by our lovely Queen of Desks, Julia via "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday"

So the past couple of weeks I have been able to do some crafting, I am SO pleased as work has taken over my life in the past 6 months so I am trying to get some 'me' time in the craft room.  This week it is all about Christmas cards (naturally) and of course using up old stash too (which is what I have been trying to do for the past year or so).

This week I have been using some sticky motif's that I have had for AGES (and yes, they are still sticky-joking aside, I have had these for YEARS and that shows how well made a product they are as they are as sticky as the day I bought them).  I played with some gilding flakes (remembering NOT to cough whilst the lid was off the tub) and used some black and gold scraps from the scrap box.

As to my "Man Bites Dog" cards-well.....not sure what to say about that-so moving on......

Here are the finished cards:

Just a quick update as I finally found time to make some more of the cards I started on Wednesday.  I have now managed to make 10 cards-no where near the amount I need but a good start and at least I feel that I have started to make a dent in the long list of things that need doing before Christmas!

Just a few cutouts, run though embossing folders and some gilding wax applied and buffed.

WOYWW

Hurrah, Wednesday again and I have FINALLY started some Christmas crafting!
I forget that family and friends live in USA and NZ (and I am in the UK) and therefore the last posting dates are ridiculously early (I mean, 9th Dec for NZ!!!)

But finally I have started on the cards

Nothing too taxing (a bit of gilding wax and a stamp) as time is short but still homemade-I just need to crack on and make a few more now!

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Heiress Wife Stabs Tycoon'....well I never, let's see what this weeks papers say shall we?!

So, have you decided to join us over on the lovely Julia's blog and dare to bare your Workdesk?  Come on.....we are a friendly bunch and I have learnt a lot of new techniques and made some great friendships over the years (a big thanks to Julia and Jan).

Robot cards

I forgot to blog a couple of cards I made a few weeks ago.
I was using up some card blanks I have.  I rarely buy patterned cards but these silver space ones really caught my eye.

I made some toppers from some images I found on line, tinting the images to give them a slightly retro feel and added a small MDF embellishment next to the greeting

I think these cards are perfect for small boys or girls-or even older ones as I work with a lot of engineers who would like these!

WOYWW

Wednesday again and once again life is rushing by and I have had very little time for anything but work or managing my RA.

My desk this week is just a dumping ground, there is no easy way round it I have just dumped 'stuff' that I have found around the house that I want to keep and use on some future craft project.

No crafting has been taking place but I need to start thinking about Christmas cards and presents at some point.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Dead judge revealed feds'-ooh well lets see!

So, what is on your workdesk this Wednesday?
Why not pop over to http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/ and join in?

goggly eyes and knitting

Just a quick update...my mum knitted me some slippers (they have glue on the soles to make them non slip)-aren't they fabulous?

They are SO warm..........but.....

I couldn't resist sticking some of my goggly eyes on (the other one will follow)!!!!
Not sure mum approved (let's be honest after 46 years she is well practiced in the eye rolling regarding my slightly odd actions at times)!

365 Journal

Just a quick update as I managed to finish adding some mica and glitter to my 365 Journal page for November-it reminds me a little of fireworks so seemed appropriate.

The 365 Journal Challenge is over on the amazingly talented Kate Cranes blog (and Facebook group) and I have taken part for a few years now.  I think because it is only a minute a day it is achievable and probably the reason I have kept it up all these years (similar to WOYWW, it doesn't take too long and the benefits are so much more than just an update, it is timeout from the stress of daily life and a way to touch base with likeminded people and make friends too).

WOYWW

So, Wednesday again and I manage to take part (phew).  Though this photo was taken a couple of days ago...but believe me the desk has not changed at all!!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Well, on mine is my 365 Journal (been doing these for a fair few years now) and my November page which is nearly finished ready for the start of the month (I will probably decorate the page with some sparkles for fireworks in the next couple of days)

Which means that once again (which quite frankly I am amazed at) my page is basically ready for the start of the month!!

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are much better "Brave Cop, Missing Girl"-sounds like it could be a nicer headline for a change!!

So, what's on your workdesk this week?  Do you dare to share?
